Perforated Matrices
Matrix bands with perforations for secure clamp grip.

Perforated Metal Matrix Bands.
Perforated matrices are 50 µm thick. As a rule, the matrix retainer is connected to the matrix outside the oral cavity, with the working elements inserted into the holes that, when the matrix is placed on the tooth, will lie approximately in line with the interdental space. The working elements of the matrix retainers resemble a crab's claw: they are inserted into the holes on the matrix edges and, closing on the side of the tooth opposite the contact point being restored, they fix the matrix. The tines of ring № 1.022 and of the retainers are ground down for the best entry into the interdental space.

Ring for Perforated Matrices
Perforated matrices are 50 μm thick. As a rule, the matrix holder is joined to the matrix outside the oral cavity: the working elements are inserted into those holes that will lie roughly in line with the interdental space when the matrix is placed on the tooth. The working elements of the matrix holders resemble a crab's claw: they are inserted into the holes at the edges of the matrix and, closing on the side of the tooth opposite the contact point being restored, secure the matrix. The tines of the No. 1.022 ring and of the fixators are ground down for the best entry into the interdental space.
